Resident Spotlight
Norma Jean was born March 6, 1939 to Lena and Bill at her home in Hardin County. Her mother stayed at home with the kids, and her father was a bus driver, carpenter and farmer. She grew up close to Big Springs. Norma is the oldest of 5 children. She has 3 sisters Alice, Mary and JoAnn. One brother Walter. Norma met her husband, Leo on a blind date set up by some friends. They were married at a preacher’s home. Leo was a farmer and drove all the farm equipment, Norma stayed at home until they sold their farm and moved to Irvington, she then started doing housekeeping. Norma has one son Darryl. She has two grandchildren, DJ and Cassi and a great grandson Luke. She enjoys playing bingo, hemming clothing, word searches, coloring, reading and crafts. Norma says the changes in the world are no good and the secret to living a good life is just to try to keep going as long as the good lord lets you.
