Letter from the Administrator

Please join me in welcoming Jessica Price, RN, as our interim Director of Nursing. Jessica replaces Lora Hayes after her resignation due to personal and family obligations. Jessica started her long-term care journey at Medco Brandenburg when she was in high school and worked for the facility as a certified nursing assistant about 17 years ago with Mary Durbin Hopkins, ADON. I feel blessed to have Jessica lead the nursing department with her commitment and focus on ensuring the residents’ receive the best possible quality of care along with compassionate service.

I’m excited to announce Brandenburg Nursing and Rehabilitation has been nominated for the highest award by our professional health care organization in Kentucky for “Best of Kentucky,” Our facility is currently a 4 STAR Rated building with the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid with overall quality rating. Only 61 out of 289 nursing homes in the State of Kentucky have a 4 STAR and only 43 have the highest quality rating of a 5 STAR. Based on the overall results or scores will determine which facility out of the 21 nominated will receive the honor and recognition of being named “Best of Kentucky.” I would personal like to say thank you to all those who participated. The facility, employees and residents would be honored receive that title and it would give Brandenburg some awesome recognition in the state and in our community. We have some very dedicated employees who have served the Meade County Community for many years and work very hard to care for residents with compassion and a commitment to excellent quality of care. We will be drawing for some appreciation gift cards for families, residents and employees who participate in the survey process the first week of September. I also want to say thank you to all our dedicated family members and volunteers who support and enhance the quality of life of our residents. We could not do it without your love and support.
